Fresh updates!

The Soča River in Bovec
Matjes <3

Quick recap: I spent Easter in Sicily, ate fresh Matjes in Hohwacht and Emden, went kayaking in Slovenia, and—most importantly—started preparing for fatherhood.

– You see what I did there, right?

Yes—Hannah and I are thrilled to be expecting our first child at the beginning of November. Both mom-to-be and baby are healthy and growing, and we’re enjoying the surreal comedy of navigating German bureaucracy with the added spice of an international marriage.

From a couple of weeks ago.

That’s update number one (and a big one). I’ll keep the rest of this short—write me back, or even better, give me a call!

Newsletter and Site

Over the past few days, I’ve been thinking about how I want to continue this ongoing experiment of reclaiming my personal space online—through this website and a few other platforms.

I realized I’d been procrastinating on writing posts here, partly because I felt they had to be “good enough” to justify sending out an email. A classic signal-to-noise dilemma. So, I’ve made a few changes to the site.

If you visit the site now, you’ll see a completely new layout, along with a revised structure. I’ll no longer bundle every blog post with an email newsletter. Instead, I’m decoupling things a bit:

  • The newsletter will be a personal broadcast—occasional updates sent by email without worrying too much about permanence or polish.
  • I’ve also created a new section for smaller bits of content I collect during the day. Think of it as a feed of quick thoughts, links, and fragments—similar to what you might’ve seen in past newsletters. These won’t be emailed, though I may highlight a few in newsletter digests.
  • For more thoughtful, structured pieces, those will still appear as proper blog posts. I may send those out by email when it feels right.

You’re welcome to follow via RSS, but I may also post highlights to Instagram and Threads—still the only two networks I use.

Talk to you soon!
